Removable dentures on implant

What is a removable implant-supported prosthesis?

A removable implant-supported prosthesis is a denture that is stabilized and supported by a system of anchors,  that are fixed in the jawbone with dental implants. Two or more implants are required to stabilize or support the denture depending on the patient’s needs.

Advantages of removable implant-supported prostheses

The bone volume or structure of your jaw must be in adequate condition to consider stabilizing your prosthesis with implants. Our prosthodontists can recommend different  solutions to help improve the bone structure based on your specific situation.

Removable dentures on implants offer many advantages:

  • Greater stability and comfort of the denture
  • The pressure on your gums will be reduced or eliminated
  • The ability to taste food and sense its temperature is enhanced because the prosthesis doesn’t cover the roof of the mouth
  • Chewing ability is greatly improved
  • This can be an ideal solution for patients who experience gagging with their conventional denture
  • This solution can prevent bone loss
